Viktor Orbán consigue la reelección como Primer Ministro con amplio apoyo: la continuidad de la agenda de extrema derecha en Hungría

El 8 de abril, Hungría celebró elecciones en las que resultó ganador el actual Primer Ministro, Viktor Orbán, del partido conservador nacionalista Fidesz – Unión Cívica Húngara. Con una de las tasas de participación más altas de los últimos años en la historia electoral de ese país, y con unos resultados muy similares a los obtenidos en los comicios de 2014, Orbán podría alcanzar 133 escaños de los 199 en la Asamblea Nacional. Los resultados oficiales se darán a conocer el próximo 27 de abril. Como segunda fuerza quedó el partido de extrema derecha Jobbik y como tercera la coalición de izquierda MSZP-P, seguidos de los ecologistas del LMP. Viktor Orbán se posiciona así para un tercer mandato consecutivo y para el cuarto en su carrera, y con ello su agenda de derecha y sus políticas se consolidan en el país que hoy es catalogado como una de las voces más ultraconservadoras de la Unión Europea.

Viktor Orbán wins reelection as Prime Minister with widespread support: the permanence of the far-right agenda in Hungary

On April 8th, Hungary held elections that were won by incumbent Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, of the nationalist conservative party Fidesz - Hungarian Civic Union. With one of the highest turnout rates in recent years in the electoral history of that country, and with very similar results to those obtained in the 2014 elections, Orbán could reach 133 seats out of 199 in the National Assembly. The official results will be announced next April 27th. The far-right party Jobbik, is poised to be the second political force in the Assembly, leaving the left coalition MSZP-P in third, followed by the environmentalists of the LMP. Viktor Orbán will serve as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term and a fourth in his entire career, and by doing so, he will consolidate his right-wing agenda and policies in a country that is considered as one with the most ultraconservative voices of the European Union.
